I started noticing a pattern: I drink milk and about an hour later, I started wheezing. So I decided to see if this was for real or coincidence. So I stopped drinking milk and started drinking vanilla soy milk instead. Now I don't seem to wheeze at all. Then something else interesting happened when I had my period: it was normal! I wasn't cramping up, needing to lay down and it lasted a normal length with a normal flow. I was having a normal healthy cycle!
I am now suspecting that maybe I have a dairy sensitivity that aggravates my asthma and PCOS.
So what else does this do for me in other areas of my life. I spent 8 hours yesterday working in my yard. Hard work too. Taking up some stumps, fixing my stairs that were ruined by the Mother Day's floods a couple years back, clearing out the little bit of trees trying to grow up from the ones we cut down last summer. Then today I did work around the house. I was just moving, moving, moving. Even my husband asked "What has gotten into you? I thought you would be exhausted today after what you did yesterday."
I don't know. But I suspect it is related to being able to breath clearly and not having cramps that put me on the couch for hours. I have energy for the first time in a long time!
I am working on adjusting my diet as I notice the way my body reacts to certain types of foods. Fried foods and milk do not agree with me at all. Fried foods keep me up all night, and I just explained what milk does to me.
So if you have asthma or PCOS, watch how your body reacts to dairy. Maybe there is a connection.
